• Elevation – ±2400’
• Roof Snow load – 21 psf
• Ground Snow Load 30
• Ultimate Design Wind Speed – 115 mph, Surface Roughness C
• Seismic Design Category – A
• Air Freezing Index – 4000
• Mean Annual Temperature – 40 F
• Ice Barrier Underlayment Required – Yes
• Winter Design Temp -  Neg. 21 F

GEO-TECHNICAL: Calculations for footings shall include the presumptive load bearing values contained in IBC Table 1806.2.   A geo-technical report shall be provided to verify that the values are justified w here vertical pressure values are greater than 1500 psf.

BUILDING DEPARTMENT INSPECTIONS

Inspections are required. Permit holders must schedule an inspection 24 hours prior to inspection. To schedule an inspection, inquire about the inspection process, or whether an inspection is required, please contact City Building Inspector, Steve Williams.

  • Smoke/CO Detectors
  • Stairs/Railings
  • Ufer Ground

The nature and scope of a project will determine the inspections required. The City will issue a Certificate of Occupancy once all inspections (City & State) have been performed, found to be code compliant, and all City fees paid.

Note: Plumbing and Electrical codes are inspected and enforced by the State of North Dakota Plumbing and Electrical Boards.

The Buzz

In Watford I got to go to my first National Park. I made some friends and we went to the badlands and saw things we never heard of before like jackrabbits and mule deer. In my opinion Watford is the best city ever!
