Watford City Roughrider Fund


HISTORY OF THE ROUGHRIDER FUND


In 1998 the voters of Watford City approved an initial one cent city sales tax.  They renewed it two more times.  In May of 2014, the voters supported increasing the existing one cent sales tax to one and a half cents.  In June of 2018 they voted to eliminate existing caps, exemptions and expirations.


CURRENT INITIATIVE OF THE ROUGHRIDER FUND 


The Roughrider Fund supports the debt repayment and operations of the Roughrider Center with 50% of annual sales tax collections.

The Roughrider Fund supports the debt payment of the McKenzie County Healthcare System Medical Complex.

The Roughrider Fund supports growing licensed child care services in the area.

The Roughrider Fund supports diversifying the local economy through supporting small business startup and expansion.

The Roughrider Fund supports community enrichment, vibrancy, and quality of life.

The Buzz

In Watford I got to go to my first National Park. I made some friends and we went to the badlands and saw things we never heard of before like jackrabbits and mule deer. In my opinion Watford is the best city ever!
